Parks & Recreation Projects

We have experience with parks and recreation projects as stand alone projects and as part of larger projects.
Machado Lake, City of L.A.

This project is being implemented implemented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Engineering (BOE), in collaboration with the Bureau of Sanitation and the Department of Recreation and Parks. The objective is to rehabilitate Machado Lake to clean the lake of pollution and sediments, use highly treated recycled water (sewage treated by microfiltration and reverse osmosis) to fill the lake when stormwater flows are not adequate and 3) give the Community an improved and more sustainable park to enjoy.

Service Provided: Onsite construction management support services to the BOE including
site coordination, budget & schedule, control, estimating, change order management, claims analysis, document control and partnering.

Echo Park, City of L.A.

This project was implemented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Bureau of Engineering (BOE), in collaboration with the Bureau of Sanitation and the Department of Recreation and Parks.The objective is to rehabilitate Echo Park Lake to remedy its storm water pollution problem, meet the State's water quality standards, and give the Echo Park community an improved and more sustainable lake to enjoy.

Service Provided: Onsite construction management support services to the BOE including change negotiations, coordination with various stakeholders, cost estimating, and evaluation of various scenarios for critical soil remediation studies.

Vista Hermosa Park, City of L.A.

Developed in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the City of Los Angeles, and the Mountain Recreation Conservancy Services (MRCA), the park features walking trails, streams, meadows, oak savannahs, picnic grounds, and a nature-themed playground. A FIFA-regulation soccer field and an outdoor amphitheater in a grotto provides an ideal setting for environmental and natural history education.



Service Provided: Negotiated the lease agreement between LAUSD and MRCA, oversaw the design and approval of the Park, participated in securing funds for the park and managed the construction of the park.

​Confluence Park & Fountain, City of L.A.

Located at the confluence of the Arroyo Seco and the Los Angeles River, this former industrial land was transformed into an urban park. It is envisioned by conservationists and planners as a series of open spaces that combine public space, outdoor classrooms, pedestrian and bike paths, and public art.  Confluence Park connects El Pueblo to Elysian Park and Griffith Park along the De Anza Trail.
